Look at this word: Worship. What does this bring to your mind?
Often times, I think about the church services I attend on the weekends. We sing worship songs, we listen to God's word, we pray together, give offerings, and have the Lord's Supper together in communion with one another. This is what I often think about as worship.
Jesus told the woman at the well, though, that worship would be much more for us. It would be in spirit and in truth. When we walk by the Spirit, as we've already discussed, we are following God's truth. This means we are doing what is right, being righteous. Perfect righteousness, we have also discussed, is called holiness. Now, we are seeing that walking by the Spirit is not only righteousness and holiness. It is also worship.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God— this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1 NIV84)
Worship is about more than weekend services. It's about a lifestyle of walking together with God.

"The very purpose of our existence is to know God intimately and to become more and more like Him. God wants us to know Him intimately, but He doesn't leave us wondering how to do that. He has given us both His Spirit and His Word to help accomplish that purpose. The key is in understanding how God’s Word reveals who He is and how His Holy Spirit empowers us to live like Him."
