When our will is against God, God blocks the way.

Athaliah doesn’t have a very good track record.  She’s the daughter of Ahab, which means she’s also the daughter of the Biblically famous bad woman, Jezebel.  She married into the king’s family line of the south and turned her husband against the LORD so he started to follow Baal.  Now, when the LORD restored good leadership in the north, she killed her own sons (and grandsons) who would inherit the kingdom of the south – taking control for herself.  She is working hard to keep people from walking together with God.
When Athaliah heard all the noise made by the palace guards and the people, she hurried to the LORD's Temple to see what was happening. (2 Kings 11:13 NLT)
Athaliah failed.  She thought she had stopped her sons from becoming king, but she missed one.  Now, at the ripe old age of 7, he is king.  Athaliah forgot one important truth: nobody goes up against the LORD and wins.
When she arrived, she saw the newly crowned king standing in his place of authority by the pillar, as was the custom at times of coronation. The commanders and trumpeters were surrounding him, and people from all over the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. When Athaliah saw all this, she tore her clothes in despair and shouted, "Treason! Treason!" (2 Kings 11:14 NLT)
How about you?  Do you ever find yourself going up against God?  Do you find yourself in a losing battle?  Does God block the way?
