Unless you've experienced this, you can't completely understand what it's like. Have you ever experienced peace? I mean total peace?
I'm not talking about release, which comes from blowing off steam and giving someone a piece of your mind because it was just all bottled up inside.
I'm not talking about victory, which comes from stopping those "bad boxes" from expressing themselves through your words or actions.
I'm talking about peace. Total serenity. The sensation of not needing to blow off steam because there is no pressure building up inside. I'm not talking about forced strong-arm victory that was necessary to hold back the garbage that's inside your mind and/or heart. I'm talking about peace. There is no garbage. There is no pressure. You're just relaxed...from the inside out.
When you train your "Will" to recognize good boxes and bad boxes the way God defines them, you can act on on those boxes as soon as they enter your mind. When you act on thoughts as soon as they come in your mind, holding on to the good and throwing away the bad, your "still thinking" pile doesn't get too big and doesn't cause undue stress. When you take the time to clear out your "still thinking" pile on a regular basis, the "bad boxes" aren't in there to cause difficulties from your mind. When you take the time to go into your heart to find those landmines that keep exploding, then diffuse them with the truth and forgiveness, the landmine cannot explode any more. With each step you experience more and more peace.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. (Philippians 4:6-8 NIV)
Walk with Him. Enjoy His Peace. It really is a great walk.
