Accept the Truth

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, "You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. (John 8:31-32; 16:13a NLT)

Often times when you are tracing back an "explosion" in your mind and heart, you will find at the core of the landmine is a lie.  Lies can be very powerful tools in pulling us away from God.  In fact, the lie is the only tool that our spiritual enemies have left!  Lies can cause us to turn against those closest to us, tear us up inside and, ultimately, separate us from God and the design He has for our lives.  Lies are powerfully destructive.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32 NIV)

Truth is the greatest, actually, the only antidote to overcome the power of the lie.  Truth gives us peace in our minds and hearts.  Truth is easier to remember.  Truth always comes from God, so it keeps our relationship with God transparent and unashamed.  Truth really does set us free.

When you find a "landmine" exploding within your heart, look for the lie.  When you find it, ask God for the truth.  Then throw that "bad box" away and replace the lie with the truth.  You might find yourself experiencing peace like you've never felt before.  Let the truth set you free.  Let God heal your heart, one landmine at a time.
