A Box

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.  (1 Corinthians 1:10 TNIV)

Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.  (Hebrews 3:1 NIV)

"'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme.  (Ezekiel 38:10 NIV)

I had a friend who looked at the picture in my previous post and said, "All I could think was, 'Look at all those boxes.'"  I lost his attention from that point on.  He was focused completely on the boxes.

He's not the only one.  It's quite normal, actually, for people to be distracted by "boxes" in life.

In the picture of my mind, a box simply represents a thought that comes into my mind.  I have hundreds, thousands, even millions of them a day.  I may recognize the thoughts that come into my mind.  I may "sort of" recognize them, even though I don't give them "much thought."  I even have thoughts that process things like my breathing pattern, nervous system, and heart beat.  "Boxes" are constantly flowing in and out of my mind, even when I'm asleep.

God tells us we have good boxes and bad boxes that come into our minds all the time.  A good box, for example, would be focusing on Him and all He has done.  A bad box, as an example, would be one that devises an "evil scheme".  In God's design for our minds, we would be perfectly united with Him and, as a result, one another in our minds...all the way down to the individual thought.

My friend's right.  That's a lot of boxes to sort through. :)
