"I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in Me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as You and I are one—as You are in Me, Father, and I am in You. And may they be in Us so that the world will believe You sent Me. "I have given them the glory You gave Me, so they may be one as We are one. I am in them and You are in Me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that You sent Me and that You love them as much as You love Me. (John 17:20-23 NLT)
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting with a group of men and women who greatly desire to reach the people of Chicagoland with the good news of God's love. These people are planting churches all over the region because they know that when we plant new churches, we reach new people.
It's always a good thing to get together with this team of evangelists. Sometimes it's easier than others. There's always encouragement and building up. There is often times of "iron sharpens iron." All in all, it's time well spent every other month.
This round, I found the team speaking about sharing and collaboration across the churches. We discussed sharing resources like sermons & illustrations, physical resources like tables & chairs, and even being willing to recruit people to go help with projects. It was a joy to listen to.
How about you? Are you one with Him and His Body, the church?
Striving and praying to be more aligned with God everyday. Thanks for sharing this. It stirs my soul to think of the Church working together using their gifts & abilities for the common good as in 1 Peter 4:10-11. So thankful to be reminded that there are other people and churches out there with like mind and heart.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it was a blessing. Go team!
