When do we remember God?

Adam and Eve were aware, more than most of us, how beautiful it can be to walk together with God.  They listened to the alternative, though, and experienced the consequences for their actions.  They weren’t the only ones.  This pattern can be seen in each of the following stories, too.  People were invited to walk with God.  They choose an alternative.  They suffered the consequences.  The ones who chose to walk with God, though, received the benefits and blessings that go along with that walk.

Consider these early stories of people who have walked before us:

  • Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:4-3:24)

  • Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:1-26)

  • Generations and Enoch (Genesis 5:1-32)

  • The Flood (Genesis 6:1-9:17)

  • Sons of Noah (9:18-10:32)

  • The Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9)

Can you identify the person or people who walked with God in these stories?  Can you identify the person or people who did not?  What happened to them?

How about you?  Can you identify the times and places you have walked with God?  Can you identify the times and places you have not?  What happened to you?
