It’s Real

Then Moses told Aaron everything the LORD had sent him to say, and also about all the signs he had commanded him to perform. (Exodus 4:28 NIV)

You know that your experience with God is becoming real when you are ready to live out what God said.  Moses started small.  First he went and shared his experience with his brother, Aaron.  Brothers tell us the truth.  Brothers won’t lie.  Maybe I was just seeing things.  A brother would tell me if I am all messed up.  But Aaron didn’t tell him that.  Obviously, Aaron believed that it was God, too.  So, they took it to the next step.

Moses and Aaron brought together all the elders of the Israelites, and Aaron told them everything the LORD had said to Moses. He also performed the signs before the people, (Exodus 4:29-30 NIV)

It’s more difficult to tell other people about your experience with God.  It’s one thing to tell your brother.  It’s another thing, completely, to tell it to elders of the community and the faith.  Clearly, they both believed that Moses’ God experience was real.  They were willing to go through with the first baby steps God had given them to do.

and they believed. And when they heard that the LORD was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped. (Exodus 4:31 NIV)

Because of Moses faithfulness, the elders of Israel worshipped God that night.  People who felt all alone and abandoned by God found out that they were not alone and that God had not abandoned them.  They found out that God loved them and was about to set them free.  Had Moses not followed through with God’s call, the elders may never have known.  Not only that, they would not have worshipped that night.  They would have still thought that God didn’t care.

How about you?  Do you make your God experiences real by working through your doubts?  Does it become real enough that you are willing to live it out?  Will someone hear from you that they are not alone and abandoned?  Will they find out God loves them?  Will they worship because you made it real?
