Moses's Light

The LORD said to Moses, "Give Aaron the following instructions: When you set up the seven lamps in the lampstand, place them so their light shines forward in front of the lampstand." So Aaron did this. He set up the seven lamps so they reflected their light forward, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. (Numbers 8:1-3 NLT)

I find it interesting the level of detail God gives to His people.  Sometimes I find that I want God to give me more details.  Other times, I look at the details He provides and wonder, "Why is that important?"

My walk with God goes so much better when I stop worrying about the details He didn't provide and I start following the details He did provide.  The LORD told Moses to set up the seven lamps so that their light shines forward in front of the lampstand."  So, that's what Moses did.  In that moment, Moses did what was good, right, and holy.  He did what God told him to do.

God gave us a command regarding the light as well.  "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16 NIV)

Will you respond as Moses did?  What will you do with the light?
