Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. (Acts 8:35 NIV)
I've studied Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science at a somewhat advanced level. I've participated in the economics of capitalism at various levels of several organizations. I've communicated with people in crowds of thousands and one on one. I've spoken in person, in letters, on telephones, through fax, on email, on electronic social media...just about every method of communication available in my lifetime.
Do we over-think the mission we've been given?
I've seen lots of cool web sites for churches with links to videos, pod-casts, and social media communications. I've heard many preachers and teachers over the years. I've read many books about God. I've read the pages of Scripture from start to finish. Nothing speaks to me as deeply and effectively as the simple message Phillip shared on a carriage ride. We don't know the details of his message, but it had to be about as simple as this...
God loves you and wants to walk with you. Do you want to walk with Him?
The man asked to be baptized.
It really is a simple message.
Have you shared it lately?
